Quality Preschool and Kindergarten Lesson Plans, Themes, Activities That Help Reduce Your Stress in Planning!

Receive Access to a Full-Year of Kindergarten and Preschool Lesson Plans, Themes, Worksheets and Activities Specifically Designed for Kindergarten and Preschool Educators!

Preschool and Kindergarten Lesson Plans and Themes That Help  Boost Early Reading Success in Your Young Learners

Included in the "Early Learning Solutions" program is a total of 22 themes and 6 seasonal mini-themes.  Each theme includes 2-4 related emergent readers used to help teach beginning reading skills, a total of 80 emergent readers. Many of the readers have been professionally illustrated by cartoonist Ralph Hagen.

A Few Sample Pages from the Readers

Ocean Theme - Alphabet Reader

Sample Page from the Emergent Reader

This reader introduces the letter "Oo" within its story context.  Large pictures are also provided to make it into a big book. The activity displayed to the left would be completed to represent the letter "Oo" for octopus.  Templates to complete the activity are included in the membership.

Kindergarten and Preschool Lesson Plans and Themes that Help You Connect With Literature

Many of the themes have related literature selections and  follow-up activities.  For example, after reading the selection "Rainbow Fish" related to the Ocean theme, the emergent reader provided in the theme unit would be used to model the reading process. A sample page from the reader is found in the link below:

Rainbow Fish Retelling Emergent Reader Sample Page

Theme Units That Offer You Over 150 Templates to Complete Your Craft Projects

For example, the template to the right would be used to make rainbow fish as a follow-up activity to reading the book and emergent reader.

Preschool and Kindergarten Lesson Plans That Help You Teach the Alphabet and Related Sounds Effectively

For example, the template shown would be provided to complete the activity to the right.  Using picture mnemonics has proven to be an effective way for children to learn the alphabet and their related sounds.  The children would be introduced to the letter "Dd" for "dog" and its related sound after reading the emergent reader "Dogs, Dogs."

Resources That Help Integrate Your Math Lesson Plans - Lesson on Shapes

After reading the book "The Little Engine That Could' by Watty Piper the children could be introduced to various shapes used to complete the math/craft activity displayed to the left (the little engine).  The templates to complete the craft are included in the membership.  This would be taught in conjunction with the Transportation theme unit.

Kindergarten and Preschool Lesson Plans that Provide You With Center Suggestions

Each theme provides suggestions for center ideas. For example, the alphabet pictures provided in the member's area would be used for letter sound sorting in the literacy center.

Resources that Help You Build Phonemic and Phonological Awareness

The rhyming picture cards and emergent readers are a good source of facilitating phonemic and phonological awareness activities.  For example, the children would match the rhyming cards "bee" and "tree"

Preschool and Kindergarten Lesson Plans That Help You Develop Visual Discrimination

The theme units provide resources to help develop visual discrimination activities.  For example, the children would match the word "fish" to the one on the picture.  These are also great to used for "read around the room" theme related activities.

Lesson Plan Themes That Connect with Science

In the Bugs theme children can be sorting pictures according to if they are insects or not.  The concept of insects having common characteristics has been taught previously.  This is a great follow-up activity that could be used at the centers.  If you are working with younger children the pictures could be used for discussion purposes and sorted together as a group.  This is an example of modifying the activities that are provided.

Kindergarten and Preschool Lesson Plans That Connect with Social Studies

The Community Helpers theme unit and Family and Pets theme directly relate to the topics of family and community.

Lesson Plans that Help Meet The Curriculum

Countless hours have been spent to ensure the resources cover the majority of the Kindergarten curriculum for a full-teaching year.  Kindergarten expectations were carefully looked at when developing the materials.  If you are a Preschool teacher, you can easily modify the materials to provide an outstanding program for your children.  This would reflect positively in your favor!

I just want to say I have finished your 4 weekly plan on community helpers and cannot describe how elated I am with your lesson plans. I work in England and the phonics programme is a lot more demanding and full one here, but I use all your other phonics for my lower ability group. I use all your emergent readers and made a doctor's surgery using your photocopiables.
I just want to thank you immensely for hours of planning saved by your plans.
Thanks a million.
Louise Hall ( a teacher who wants a life!)

I have finally got around to spending time going through my various resources - and I do have many. Yours is perhaps the best I have, definately glad I came across your site as it has great resources and ideas. It is different in that it has been organized carefully and thoughtfully to simplify each theme into a 'book' with easy access to instructions. There does not seem to be endless writing - just resources and how to use them.

Thank you so much for your time in putting all your ideas together to create this amazing site and to all those who helped.

We are so HAPPY.  Thank you again for the wonderful blessing you sent into our lives.  I can't begin to tell you how happy we are.  Caity doesn't want to stop working long enough to sleep.  I have never seen a child so happy about school.  Please know that you have made my KaKa a very happy learner.  Thank you and may GOD bless you greatly.                Nancy Malone and Caity

I am enjoying the lesson plans.  Thank you for providing this service.
Note: I have been teaching for 40 years and have never found anything so helpful! Margaret Hormel

I really can't compliment you enough.  This is a very good web site.  I look forward to your e-mails and worksheets.  Thank you.  Nancy Thorpe .

I am homeschooling 2 preschoolers and have found this website to be a godsend.  My boys have excelled to much since using your worksheets.  Thanks    Patti Roche

It has expanded my childrens enjoyment of class. They absolutely love the worksheets and mini books. They keep asking to do it again. I would not change a thing it is possibly the best site I have seen for preschool.      Donna Gregorio - member

Wow!  The units are complete, well-organized and user friendly.  They fit well with other curriculum and help me meet academic standards.  Denice Williams

I have been a Kindergarten teacher for 32 years and I am now moving to a Pre-K position.  Your programs fit my philosophical approach to early education and I am looking forward to using them.  It is has been worth the hours of research spent on the computer looking for just the right material!!!!   Thank you.  Carol Mock - member
