Key Concepts

What is included:

• Two repetitive stories Color Magic and Ants.

•  Alphabet Skills - The stories introduce the letters Cc and Aa in a fun and interactive way! Follow-up suggestions are also included.

• Learning the Concept -  Both stories require the children to apply what they have learned about color within the classroom.  A powerful way to not only learn the concepts but gain a greater understanding of the reading process!

• Phonemic Awareness - The story Ants introduces the concept of rhyme and the letter Aa within its context. The two children in the story keep seeing ants of different colors on rhyming words. This is a funny story which provides a great opportunity to introduce phonemic awareness activities to young learners!

• The story Color Magic introduces the concept of mixing colors together to make a new color and the letter Cc . Carl the Clown is the main character in the story. He learns color magic by mixing different colors together. Children are actively involved in completing the book.

• The story Colorful Food  requires the children to further make use of color words and gain a better recognition of them. Templates of all the food used within the story is found in the supplementary resources area.  These are a great to use as a follow-up craft ideas to further their understanding of the story and colors.

• All the stories not only require the children to directly be involved in learning about colors but also were specifically designed to introduce the kindergarten and preschool child to the reading process.

• Math  - the children will be introduced to the concepts of color and letter patterning. All templates for this are included.

•  Science - the concept of how primary colors are mixed together to make other colors.

•  More Math - Picture icons for graphing favorite colors are included
