Key Concepts

Two repetitive stories Funny Monsters and Napping Noozies. The children will be introduced to the sounds and letters of Mm and Nn within reading the stories.
Funny Monsters, is about monsters that have an unusual amount of body parts. The children are required to count these.
Napping Noozies is about pretend people called noozies that are taking a nap. Individual noozies wake up and run away to play and that leaves two less. This is an early introduction to subtraction. The children are required to find the napping noozie that are hiding and count them. A fun project for your little learners!
Bonus story Counting Rhyme Time has also been added to further assist in meeting curriculum expectations. Research has shown that children being introduced to rhyme and gaining an understanding of this concept experience greater reader success in their grade years. For this reason, many of the emergent readers within the program include rhyme.
Reading - The stories are repetitive enough to allow kindergarten and preschool children to read them on their own after they have been introduced as a shared reading experience. This serves as a powerful method for young children to not only gain a better understanding of the reading process but also gaining a positive attitude towards it by having them experience reading the story on their own (pretend reading) and the pride of completing the book (interactive component).
