Identifying changes in weather and how it effects us. The Dramatic Play Center will transform into a weather station.  All picture templates to assist with setting this up is included.

This serves as a powerful method for young children to not only gain a better understanding of the reading process but also gaining a positive attitude towards it by having them experience of reading the story on their own (pretend reading) and the pride of completing the book (interactive component).

• Writing - children will complete a predictable sentence line related to the theme.  Younger children will dictate their ideas to an adult.  Modeling writing is another important tool for young children to be introduced to.

• Dressing for the right weather conditions is discussed. Children are required to sort pictures of clothing and place them under the correct type of weather conditions. Pictures are both in color and black and white.

• Counting activities and using volume is used in the math center.

• Blending sounds together to form words is further explored.
