  1. Would love to see more Smart Board ideas! Thanks for what has been posted already. It is very useful.

  2. The tutorial was wonderful! Would love to see more Smart Board activities and tutorials.

  3. I am just learning how to use a SmartBoard this year & think that SmartBoard resources are really important and valuable. I teach French Immersion & have to translate text but even then if the text is simple it is easier than starting from scratch!

    1. Hello! I teach French Immersion Kindergarten and can relate to having to create reseources from scratch, that are so readily available in English. It is easier to change things electronically, so I look forward to the Smart Board activities posted too. Just got a Smart Board installed this week.

      1. French teachers within my school often complain about the limited resources. My French is quite limited.

  4. We do not have smartboards but we do have Mimios, which are similar to smartboards. They use whiteboards, a projector and a sensor to make the whiteboard interactive. I would love resources for this as an alternative to smartboards.

  5. we are now using mimio boards
not sure how that would work with the smartboards.
will give them a try when board is set up in my room
love all the activities so far

    1. Unfortunately mimio boards would not work. It appears that they use different software.

  6. I work in a pre-k and Kindergarten school. All our classrooms have smart board, and some of us are huge fans. As an ESL teacher, I rely 100% in its use. I create most of my lessons based on the SB and I can’t begin to tell you how much more engaged the children get when we use it. Smart exchange is a great site with pre-made lessons. However, I definitely recommend to learn how to use the software, so you can make your own lessons.

    1. Feel free to share your expertise!!!

  7. I have worked with a smartboard in the past. I’m a prek teacher now and we don’t have a smartboard yet. We are in the process of building a new building and getting a computer lab and a smartboard in it. I love the smartboard and will definitely use the activities. I have an ipad2 and will start using that in my classsroom in the next few weeks.

  8. I know that Smart Boards are currently being piloted in the school district that my children attend. I think that they are going to be a wonderfully engaging element to add to the classroom, but there will be a large learning curve for many of the teachers. If by chance my preschool gets one I know that we would you these resources at our facility. Just watching one of your tutorials makes me want to “play” with one.

  9. I think this would be an invaluable resource. Thanks so much for thinking of it! I feel a bit less stressed now about fulfilling these new educational needs. Megan

    1. Teacher created board games can be just as effective. I like having the ability to display the emergent readers on the Smart Board to use as a shared reading experience.

  10. I love your web sight, I was excited when you announced that you were going to create learning activities using the smart board. I am an older teacher and just got a smart board. Technology is not my “thing” but I can see that good smartboard activities are an engaging way for kids to learn.

  12. always looking for smartboard activities!!! thanks!!!

  13. Oh, Yes Please!!! I am asked to use the smartboard for lessons twice per week now, and it is wonderful to have you as a resource!

  14. i would like to see more smartboard but the problem is it doesn`t download here,am in Angola.please do something

  15. In order to download the activities you would need to have Notebook software. Even if you have a Smart Board; the software is another product related to it. In my opinion the Smart Board becomes a glorified overhead projector without the software.

    1. I used to use a Smart Board. Now my school has eno boards. I guessing they are another company’s name for the mimio boards.
My question is “Can the Notebook software which runs on a computer, work with the eno/mimio boards? Any one know?

      1. Hi Barb,
I read a posting on Pro Teacher in regards to this; it is displayed below. It sounds like your files are transferrable if you have notebook software installed on your computer.

We had a traveling smartboard but the district got mimio’s and I had quite a lot of lessons saved under smartboard. You need to pull up mimio and then when you click on open file, there is the drop down box that is labeled files of type, there should be a smart notebook listing. Realize anything that is interactive will not work. Pictures and text will download fine. Sometimes backgrounds would not always transfer over but that is an easy fix. If the smart software is on your computer still, the notebook software will run and work the same, you just have to use the mimio pen.

  16. I teach kindergarten and have a smartboard and notebook software. I can’t thank you enough for your Notebook lessons. As a kinderplan member, you have saved me a great deal of time preparing individual lessons for10 frames and bingo games.

Is there a 100′s chart, as I think it would be very useful?
Thanks and keep up the good work!!!

    1. Hi Joan
I have a 100 chart on my computer at school. I won’t be in school until next week. I will post it once it is available. Thanks for the suggestion.

  17. I’d love to see a bank of Smart Board activities by subject/theme. Seeing tutorials on how to create an activity would be nice, but if they are time intensive to create, and would mean fewer actual Smart Board activities posted, then I would definitely prefer just the Smart Board activities ready to use. There are more and more people familiar with Notebook 10 who are able and willing to give tutorials to their colleagues. Thanks for thinking of this new media!! (I just got my Smart Board installed this week!)

  19. I use the smartboard with my preschoolers all the way to school age (days off school) children. I find a multi-media outlet enhances their education. I would definitely be appreciate of more interactive smartboard activities.
